Hi there. I've stacked the IC's and made a switch to go from 1 to 2 ic's. There's heaps of gain. It makes my ears bleed. I'm adding a clean boost to it. I won't be needing the extra gain with the fuzz implementation.
cya next time!

Wootage! Project Half complete! Starting a new one already!
Wow, its been awhile. And might I add, I finally got a good one to post.
So I had this crazy idea to do a modified disto+. So I had (for like 1 minute) built a stock disto+. I substituted a 10pf ceramic for a 12pf since they didn't have any at Dickies. So, I socketed all of the capacitors a side from the electrolytics. Looking back on it actually, I should've socketed them as well so I can switch them for higher values for bass. Oh well. Diodes have socketed as well.
The changes I have made are:
- In the clipping stage, I have replaced one diode with an LED. To me, it really makes it crunchy. Great for palm muting!
- changed 10pf to a crazy 101pf. I have no idea why I did that. To me it sounds like it brightened up the tones or let in some high end. Peh, I haven't messed around with too many distortions to make a judgement.
- greenies have been swapped for MKT. I like MKT's but are a bit more pricier.
Mods I shall be doing:
- Have a switch to go from assymetrical to symetrical clipping
- Have a switch to go from LED to Diode. This opens up lots of possibilities. (Assymertical clipping with LED anyone?)
- Have a switch to go from one LM741 IC to 2 LM741 IC or as it's called "stacked"
- Have a booster stage. (most likely a really basic fuzz or a simple booster)
Will have photos up soon!
As for the second project? I'll give you a hint. It rythms with romeo (okay, kinda) and it's a copy of a crappy vintage pedal. I'll update as soon as I get parts.
Cheerio guys!

YEAH! Made one working pedal and a fancy pedal board!
Time to rejoice kids! I have just created a "SoloPro" created by the guy at diyguitarist.com. What does it do? Well It allows me to set 2 different levels and switch between the two. I used a DPDT instead of a 3PDT and sacrificed an LED. But thats aight coz I'm prob gonna use it as a mute pedal anywaiz. Now I need for fork out money for a new enclosure. This hobby sure is expensive.
\/\/0o7@63! I just created a good as pedal board! its on a 45 degree slant and the best thing about is that its designed as a box. Basically, it's a box which is being held shut by 2 door magnets. Theres a whole on top and on the back side facing the audience where i can feed my power cables and leads and leave the slack inside, or put extra picks, batteries, strings, chord book etc. Also on the back is an attached power board so when I plug my effects in I just plug one power point. Rad as 12 man! Expect pictures and a full plan tomorrow.
Cya in the next update!
its time for Gunz!

Finished My DS-1, But its not working
Yes! Exams are finished so i can now totally commit myself to my projects but I've seemed to hit a brick wall. I have just completed a cool new mute pedal. In other words, my distortion isn't working. GRRR! and it took me ages to complete! So now I'm doing some seriously debugging. Does any of you pedal builders live near me? if so drop me an e-mail so you can help me out!

Some CS-3 mods and rehousing, refurnishing a distortion pedal
Hi all! Thanks to the guy who comment on my last entry! I will get some pictures once I recieve the fuzz pedal, which should be end of this month. I didn't know people are actually reading this! Can everyone who has read my blog please comment? Its just so that I can see that people are reading and its a little encouraging to know that people are reading this in are interested in what I'm doing.
Okay since last update til' about now I've traded my pick-ups for some parts. I actually got a crap load of resistors, pots, switches and other stuff. I also managed to pick-up a modded and semi gutted distortion pedal. All I have to do is add a switch, jacks and battery snaps which i already have. All thats needed is to find an enclosure for this baby and I have to debug the damn thing.
I'm also modding my CS-3 thanks to Cameron Sutton who provided me with the instructions.
Will post pictures soon!
I've transfered the layout for the DS-1 unto my copperboard and all thats needed is to get some etchant which i will get once exams are over! w0ot@63! smashed my 3/4 IT exam today which means I have 4 more exmas to go!
I'll keep you guys posted on whats happening. Don't expect an update until next week thursday Australia time coz I'm really busy with exams.
cheerios!!

weeee! Getting a muff fuzz!!!!!
Okay, this is quite random. On the www.diystompboxes.com forum, there was a post with this guy named tiges_tendes offering partially populated boards. He had a muff fuzz that was partially built for free and he's generously paying for shipping to Australia! Cheers mate! If this guy was near me I would buy him a beer. So I'm pretty much gonna half make this one too. The only thing left to put in this bad boy is a capacitor, battery snap footswitch and an encasing.

My components came today!
Yup! 3/4 of my stuff has arrived in the mail and i've just spent and hour and a half sorting them all out into different containers for the 2 effects. Now I'm gonna spend another half an hour double and triple checking!
I got my components from www.futurlec.com.au, my 3PDT from ebay and other stuff from jaycar
